Pam Heap

I feel honoured to have served as a Trustee of the Rescue Charity since its inception. I bought my first Italian Greyhound in 1959 and have been a member of the Italian Greyhound Club since then, breeding, showing and a Championship Show Judge for over forty years.
The Charity does such wonderful work in rehoming dogs for whatever reason and I have given a home to two bitches, the last one ‘Portia’ was used as a breeding machine, lived in an unheated caravan and produced her last litter of five at the age of nine when she was of ‘no further use’ to her commercial breeder. She came to ‘Rescue’,and to me, at ten and a half when she quickly became house, lead and obedience trained and lived until the ripe old age of sixteen and a half, nuch loved and a successor to my previous bitch ‘Sapphire’ also from Rescue.
